Research Project: Exploring language, social, programming and coping factors that affect children who are deaf and have a pervasive developmental disorder and their families.

Very little is known about children who are deaf and also have a Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD). This research project aims to better understand this unique population of children and their families. Areas that will be explored with a direct focus on the child are: language, social and functioning skills. Additionally communication techniques, educational and programme services, and coping strategies that are accessed by these families will also be investigated.
